Everyone knew it was coming but it was still a shock when I read this… if you’ve never checked his last lecture I urge you to do so… A truly inspiring man and although I never met him… or even been in the same country as him… I will miss him… I watched the last lecture several times and I never ever felt sad for him, or myself… Instead I found myself uplifted, excited and hopeful… for Randy, through his own understanding of his life, made me understand what it really meant to be a human being…. a truly sad loss.

I learned something interesting about British coinage today. £5, £2, and £1 coins are legal tender for any amount. 50p, 25p (yeah, I’ve never seen one either), and 20p coins are only legal tender for amounts up to £10. 10p and 5p coins are only legal tender up to £5. And, the biggest surprise to me: 2p and 1p coins are only legal tender for amounts not exceeding 20p. (All notes are legal tender for any amount.)

That doesn’t mean that you can’t buy a pack of chewing gum for 30p using 2p coins, just that the cashier is legally allowed to refuse to serve you.
